PSYCH!
Hopefully none of you have already cross-stitched the baby's name or had it monogrammed on anything, because we changed our minds! I had chosen a name long before I ever got pregnant with this one, but I have been so worried that it's the next super popular name that I kept refusing to use it. So lame. So last night we decided that if it's what I truly LOVE, then we should use it. So our baby, for real this time, will be named Violet Louise Glaus. Hooray!

Getting Ready for a Baby Girl
We've officially decided that our baby girl will be named Noël Louise Glaus. Oliver doesn't really get it yet, but he's in for a big surprise about mid-March!

Getting Ready for a Birthday and Christmas
Oliver's 2nd birthday is coming up next week! We can't believe it. He does and says new things every day that make us smile, laugh and feel very proud. :)
He's been making us laugh this week when he sit with his Uncle Ben on the LoveSac and kicks back with an unplugged controller to play videos games with him. Every time the character dies Oliver exclaims, "Oh no! Hahaha!" Always with a laugh. It's pretty fun. Nate says he's in training and I'm worried that he's being exposed to things I'd rather he not. :)
We had a very nice visit over Thanksgiving with Nate's family in Arizona. His sister Natalie was married and it was so great! We are always sad to leave and find ourselves wishing we lived closer. Or more that THEY all lived closer. :)

Blog, blog, blog.... I guess I'll update it.
Halloween was pretty good, except for the part where Oliver had a nasty cold and couldn't go out much. But he got to knock a few doors and realize that people were handing out FREE CANDY! He seemed to think that was pretty cool. AND he got to be a frog and hop around the house. (Or was he a Pokemon???... )
AND Oliver got to carve pumpkins for the first time (mostly he just stabbed a big spoon into the bowl of pumpkin guts while we worked).

Summer Fun
We have been having a great summer so far! We love the Northwest and the mild, beautiful summer. Lots of sunshine and cool breezes, gorgeous mountains, lakes, and walks along the Puget Sound.
I don't blog much because I believe that a picture says a thousand words and I have LOADS of pictures (and a few videos) on Picasa. So check out our links to the left. If you have not been sent an invitation to view those, let me know (joy.glaus@gmail.com) and I'll give you access. You have to have a google account to see them (I made them private and all).
We have been able to visit Nathan's family in Arizona (hooray!) and spend the 4th of July in Portland with Joy's family (also hooray!).
Oliver loves his family and all of his new experiences. Life is good.

Nothing Exciting
Well, as usual we don't have much exciting news, but I thought I'd at least put something up here anyway.
My days, of course, are spent watching Oliver grow and discover the world around him... and whine... and get frustrated... and make us laugh a lot. He is a great little kid and has a good spirit about him.
He loves clocks, flags, and fans. He will spot one from a distance and point and tell us about it until we finally see it for ourselves.
He also loves animals. Weather in real life, books, or on TV, it doesn't matter. He makes some great dog barks, cat meows, crow calls, elephant trumpets (he's getting better at that one), pig snorts (or sniffs in his case), monkey... uh... what exactly do monkeys do?... screams, etc.
We have all been enjoying some nice weather off and on this spring and Oliver has taken a liking to being outside... all the time. He cries when we drag him inside. He loves the dirt and drives me crazy by throwing bark dust and getting all over his head and in his clothes. Mud puddles are another thing altogether.
And who can forget storytime at the library. We go every week and Ollie has a grand time. He usually sits on my lap until the very end when he can't resist the bubbles! He's a shy one, just like I was.
